A small hovering droid equipped with a set of scanners intended to monitor its surroundings, it gathers data and then transmits to either a command station or personal control unit via its antenna. Patrol droids are relatively inconspicuous and can therefore often function as basic spy droids as well. Although not intended as a war machine, their nature as combat support requires them to carry a basic defence blaster.
